The DGT is especially liked for time controls longer then 15 minutes. It is easier to play on a chess board then play on the screen. Also mouse slippages no longer occure. Most larger online chess websites support the DGT chess board, like FICS with Babachess or Arena, Playchess with Fritz or ICC with BlitzIn or Dasher. The DGT supports the announcement of moves, which is an important feature when playing on the internet.
DGT Bluetooth wireless, USB or serial board?
USB and (wireless) Bluetooth e-Boards are for individual use at home, club or school. Connect a single board to the PC with USB cable or wireless using Bluetooth. The boards are supplied with all accessories in a nice gift box. Bluetooth signals are absorbed by organic material including human beings. This means that the Bluetooth signal may be to weak to use in a tournament hall. It is highly recommended to use serial e-Boards in tournament.
Serial tournament e-Boards can be connected together in large numbers for use at tournaments and are supplied in a custom made canvas DGT bag. The serial tournament e-Boards are connected to the PC using conventional cables or the modern wireless DGT Caïssa System.
